This is a translation of this topic.

The Translation Tool is a website that lets users contribute and manage translations of Osiris/Isis/Anubis online.

It can be used to:
- Translate to a new language that is not yet implemented
- Correct any existing message (also to translate from "IT slang" to a human-readable text )
- Suggest better, user-friendlier messages
- Edit help messages or documents embedded in software (for example, the message with the id "main.pages.view.welcome.content" is the help message that appears when you enter a blank portal).

You can contribute translations anonymously, no login required (simply click on any item and fill the form).
After translation proposals are approved, they will be integrated in the software, and pending proposals cleared.
Check option "[ ] only with proposal" to see only items which already have pending proposals.

Some items are locked, mostly because it does not make any sense to translate them. For example, certain messages are actually software symbols, not translatable and shown in a special neutral language "(inv)". For more information on the hierarchy of languages, please read "Details of selecting a locale" in the documentation.

ps. Right now, the translation tool is placed in "Anubis" package simply because it was convinient to do so. Ultimately, the translation website will be separated from Anubis (it is not Anubis).

All the translation different from english and italian are made with automatic tools (google translate).
Don't lose time to explain (like the comment on "Editor"), do directly any changes you want!

He translate over 500 texts in a few days, is almost at 50%.

We need to change some text that you already translated.

For example, in a translations of english text "Options", you write "Опции".
Now i need to change from "Options" to "Module options".
In this case, i will simply clean the russian translation. If i don't clean, you can't know if a translation need to be adjusted.
Maybe in future we implement some "need to check" checkbox

no problem, thanks for finding the error. Obviously, I simply clicked the wrong row and typed something else into the English locale.

IMHO in the future an option to only show certain locale(s) could be useful. Translation pages are long and require scrolling down after submitting a translation.
Someone who prepares Spanish translation probably doesn't need French, Polish and German locales; they only clog the screen.
==> a selection of languages would be helpful. Something like this:

Show:  [ ] de   [x] en  [ ] es  [x] it  ...

For the time being, it's OK as it is, though.
